A Wet Weekend

What a weekend of water fun to prepare us for our big vacation to Table Rock! On Saturday, Christian and I took Makenna and Camden to Sunsplash! We had free passes that expired at the end of the month, so off we went. Kelley watched Delaney (thanks again!).

The kids had so much fun! I didn't take any pictures, but I can tell you they had a blast. Camden is still quite aprehensive about new things, and water is one of his biggest fears, so he wasn't quite as adventurous, but he LOVED the, "pool where I can reach." It was only 1 foot deep and he loved splashing around in it. In his own time too, he loved the little water slides.

Makenna is our more daring child and went down the big slides with both Mommy and Daddy. Her favorite was the Masterblaster. Next year she should be tall enough for some other rides too.
On Sunday, we went out on the boat with the Farmers. The adults wakeboarded and then we got to watch Julia and Riley wakeboard. Julia is sure going to pass me soon! And Riley did a great job too!

Next Makenna and Morgan went on the skimmer. It was so much fun to see Makenna try this. She loved it and even went again after Morgan. Next up will be the wakeboard at Table Rock.

Go Makenna and Morgan.

Here are some other random shots of the day.

Girls just wanna have fun!

I took Makenna to a Girly Girl camp today so she could have some fun at the gym with her friends. They learned a new dance, tumbled, got their nails painted and hair done. It was so much fun! I coached the tumbling portion, but I could see enough of Makenna to know she was having blast with her friends. I'm so glad she has her little social network at th gym. Here are her closest friends there.

Jacqueline, Bailey, Makenna, Emma

The little dance they learned, they were able to perform at the end of the camp. Too cute!

Goofing off at baseball

Not that I condone goofing off in class (I'm a teacher, remember), but I thought this was so funny of Camden when he is waiting for the ball to be hit and is covering short stop. He is just SO into the game. Ha! Actually when the ball finally is hit, at least he hustles!

Forest Lakes

Our family took a little mini-vacation this weekend up to Forest Lakes. Christian's parents have a fifth wheel up there, but there was no way we could all fit, so we shared a cabin with Ross and Amy. We spent the majority of the time at the cabin and it was wonderful.

Nana, Amy, the kids and I headed up after Camden's baseball class. The drive is about 2 1/2 hours and, of course, the kids didn't sleep. So, when we got there, we set each of the kids up with a DVD player and their movie of choice. They watched in the bunkbeds that Amy and Ross had to sleep in, and Makenna referred to as, "the closet." Pretty squishy room, but Christian and I were a little jealous. It looked like fun! (We had to have the big room because of Delaney's playpen, not that I'm complaining!)

Camden watched Cars.

Makenna watched Tinkerbell.

After Laney's nap, snack time in the cabin.

A great picture of Nana and the kids. That night Nana built a fire while we waited for the guys to arrive, Makenna danced, and Camden was excited to play with his flashlight brought for him. When the guys did arrive, we had smores!
Then the kids were off to to Nana and Poppy's to sleep in their new pajamas. The next morning. My husband will not pose for a real picture with me, so here's the best I had!Nana gave the kids their own camera, and they had a blast for about an hour when they ran out of film. Some strange pictures they took: toilet, Amy's shoes, Makenna's noseThen we took the kids on a quad ride. After the kids got their ride, Ross and Amy and Christian and I headed out for a longer ride. We rode to this tower that overlooked the city.
Then we rode on a crazy road to the edge of the rim.

The day ended with a barbeque. And before we left the next morning, the kids had some time to blow bubbles. Thanks for the great get-away Nana, Poppy, Uncle Ross and Aunt Amy!

Julia's 7th birthday

I can't believe I have a niece that is 7! Today was Julia's birthday and we went over to give her presents and the cousins had the chance to play together. Julia is becoming such a sweet young girl. I feel so fortunate to coach her in tumbling. I love having that special time with her. We bought Julia a sparkly tanktop, 2 pair of sunglasses and a pair of flipflops that I made.
Here are the cousins:

Then we headed out to the trampoline. Riley's hair had some major static which bummed her out for some reason.

How many kids can you get on a jungle gym (oh, and we have the SAME slide set-up at our house and the kids never play on it!)Delaney went on the trampoline because she wanted to jump like the big kids!

Happy Birthday Julia!
