Backhandsprings

Yeah! Makenna got her backhandspring on the trampoline! We went over to Megan and Greg's tonight and I was able to let Makenna try it by herself. I think she's been ready for a while, but with the unpredictable behavior of four-year-olds, I didn't feel comfortable yet. We were so busy with recital too that no new tricks were being tried.

Anyway, I am so proud of her!!! She was so proud of herself too!!!

School's Out for Summer!

Makenna, Riley and Logan had their last day of preschool on Friday and had a little graduation/presentation. They sang Zip-a-dee-do-dah and Peanut Butter Jelly and got a certificate of completion.

I talked with Ms. Kellie and she said that you changed so much this year Makenna! Last year you would throw yourself on the floor for the first 10 minutes of class and then would participate but you were not very social. This year was MUCH different. You played with everyone and even danced for them frequently. After talking about it ALL the time, you finally were able to show them your lollipop dance with music and from that moment on you taught the kids how to do "sharp hips!"

On your report card Ms. Kellie said you were a bright young girl with a special talent for art. We see this talent at home where you love to color with your twistables. You loved going to preschool and have stated numerous times that you don't want to stop going. It's a good thing Camden is going to the same school next year, you can visit Ms. Kellie when we drop him off. We are so proud of you!

Here are the songs for the day: (You didn't get into them though! What happened little Miss performer?)

Zip-a-dee-do-dah (the other video wouldn't upload)

Here are some pictures from the day. Camden will be in preschool next year.

Makenna with her certificate.

Walking over to refreshments.

Makenna and her friend Carson. So cute!
Good friend Hunter and Makenna with the class pet Cheenga.Laney raced back and forth through the preschool...it was just a matter of chasing after her!
I did manage to get on picture of the matching girls!

Racer the Fish

Camden is now the proud owner of his very own fish. Speed Racer (or Racer for short). Daddy and Camden picked him out as a very special trip, and Camden is so excited to have his very own pet. Yeah Camden!

Little Miss Attitude

Well, Delaney just might be turning into her older sister. Her feistiness is definitely becoming a part of her personality and for now it's adorable (for now...). Here is Delaney at her high chair.

Also, she now puts herself in timeout if she's really upset. If she's mad about something, she will walk over to a corner, sit down to cry, and then when she's done get up like nothing happened. ALL unprompted. I know she seems young for timeouts, and she is just copying her brother and sister, but maybe she's telling us she's ready for this?

KE Awards Party

(Recital videos coming as soon as I can them from my mom. :)

Finally! Makenna takes home her own trophy!! She has been attending competitions all year where the other girls are performing solos and get to take their own trophy home while the trophy the trio wins has to stay at the gym. She has been so understanding about this, but now she has her own!

For completing a year on the performing team, each girl got an adorable dance trophy. Makenna was ecstatic! What a great year, in two weeks we start over again!

The new and unexpected Me

I have never dyed all of my hair. I didn't plan on dying my hair. I went in for highlights and ended up with chesnut brown hair. I am not happy, but I will live.
Let me explain what happened. I wanted to do a few red highlights because ever since having kids, my hair color has seemed much more dull. I just wanted to freshen up my red a little by adding a few extra red pieces. I've actually done this a couple of times before and it's not even noticeable, but I think it makes my hair more appealing.

Anyway I went to the same place I have been going to for 9 years. Over the past 2 months, however, she has been moving all her clients over to a new brand of hair dye. Now because I've only highlighted maybe two times, I dont' really have a set formula that we use, but could remember which swatch we used a guide. So, she found the color she thought most closely matched it. It did NOT work right. This is what I ended up with (and the picture does not do it justice-It was flaming red!.)

My hair was a flourescent red/orange ...it looked horrible-Trust me! I had to call in sick the next day and go back to have her try to fix it. She had a color technician on the phone along with ALL the hairdressers that work there, and they were all trying to fix my hair. They tried multiple things but nothing would cover the obnoxious red. So, unfortunately they had to dye my entire head a darker color than my natural to cover it up. I have never dyed my hair, so this is a first. I am trying to take this a fun and exciting new adventure for me...so I am okay (sort of). What do you think?

It will take some getting used to!

At the Carwash...

After tumbling practice the kids and Christian washed Christian's car. Makenna and Camden were quite helpful!

Delaney might not have helped too much, but I love this picture of us.

Painting, Reading and Climbing

What a fun day we had with Makenna and Camden today! It was my last Wednesday off before school gets out and the kids have been asking to go to Makutu's, so Christian took the day off and we had a blast together. Megan watched Delaney (thanks Megan, Laney you can go next year)

Makutu's is an indoor tree house with all sorts of things to climb, slide down, and manuever through. It's designed for kids and adults, so we could do everything with the kids, and had as much fun as they did.

Actually, the day started with us getting to Makutu's at 11:30 (Makenna had preschool in the morning) after eating lunch at McDonalds.

Then finding out they JUST changed their hours to open 2. Aah, we had 2 1/2 hours to kill! We decided to take the kids to the movies (that didn't work out though) and then found As You Wish, a pottery painting studio. We let the kids each pick a piece (Camden picked a jet, Makenna picked a butterfly) and they did a fabulous job creating masterpieces. We had to leave them there, but I will take pictures when we get them back.

There was still about 45 minutes left to fill so we hung out at Barnes and Noble. I just LOVE bookstores. The atmostphere is relaxing, inspiring, and compelling all at the same time. We went straight to the kids area and read many books, played with the trains and just had a really great time. Then it was back to Makutus.

Now, I don't really have pictures because we were WAY too busy. The kids had so much fun though. Camden has had this fear of slides, dark places, you name it..but he did great! He climbed everything by himself and went on every single slide (on our laps, but believe me, theses slides are intense!) We were so proud of him. He loved the swinging bridge that was WAY up in the air the best (something that would have freaked him out a few months ago). I think this irrational fear may be subsiding...I hope...
Makenna's favorite part was, "Everything except the super, super fast slide." Again, these slides are intense and many are almost vertical. Makenna rode on our laps for most of them too. But she is such a little daredevil that she was willing to try anything we asked, and then would beg to do it again!

It was such a great day with the two of them. They are such funny kids and kept us laughing and smiling all day. I just love spending time as their personalities get more and more developed.

More Swimsuit Fun

The mall water play area again....love the free fun! I cannot get a good picture of Delaney though! She turns away or looks down everytime I try to take her picture. My goal this weekend is to get a good picture of her, we'll see how it goes. :) Here are the pictures I did get.

Makenna then got the idea to "layout in the sun." This was entirely her idea and she needed sunglasses for it.

Camden joined in.

I know this video is sideways, but I can't fix it! This is Delaney dancing in the car on the way home. I know it seems unsafe, but I simply held the camera up, which is why it isn't quite centered. I couldn't watch while I drove but wanted to see what she looks like. She cracks me up!!!
