What a way to end the season!

Well, Makenna's first real season of competition is over, and what a great season it was! Her last competition was No Limt on Memorial Day Weekend. I took no pictures, but for memory reasons, here are the stats:

Solo - She got Platinum, a special judges award for "Diva in Training" and 1st place overall! When she got her award, the judges asked her to show her beautiful leg extension with perfect pointed toes. What a great season she has had with this solo, and we all will surely miss her Material Girl routine.

Trio - The girls got Platinum, a special judges award for Dynamic Trio and 2nd place overall. They got beat by these cute little tap dancers that they beat in the last competition!

Hey Mickey got first place (platinum) and Rockstar got 2nd place (High Gold).

No competitions until November at the earliest, so it's time to think about next years solo. Any song ideas?

Kindergarten Graduation

Well, to continue with our sick week, Makenna had her Kindergarten graduation today. Unfortunately she was still sick. I was so sad when I had to tell her she couldn't go.

Then I called her teacher to let her know. The teacher asked if we could bring her just for a little bit. She told me Makenna was the finale. She needed her to be there if possible.

Christian asked her if she wanted to, and of course she said yes.

Despite dead battery in the car, we did manage to make it to her graduation (20 minutes late unfortunately). She got to do her finale after she received her award. She read all the tricky train words.
She received "Best Reader" award. Mrs. Mellow said she is a fabulous reader. Way to go Makenna!
It was a bittersweet day. I am so sad to see her moving out of Kindergarten and growing up, but so proud of all she has done. Her report card was amazing and she is growing into such a smart little girl. I know she will love 1st grade....and so will I because she is going to my school!

We are so proud of you sweetie!!!
(Christian was at Camden graduation at the same time, so more pictures to come!)

Down with sickness

We were all sick. Down with the stomach flu sick. Literally on Tuesday all 5 of us were. NO FUN AT ALL!! Still getting better....

Skateland Party

For the end of the year party for Kinetic Energy went to Skateland. Christian was supposed to come with Camden, but Cam and Laney were sick. So it was just Makenna and I and her first time rollerskating.

We had so much fun!!!!

She brought the skates that Santa brought her (which she really hasn't practiced with much). We did discover at the end that the skates from the rink fit her much better (the Santa skates are pretty big) but she improved so much while we were there.

Here is a video towards the beginning. She would NOT let me help her. I think she did pretty good.
After skating for about an hour, we started the awards ceremony. Here are all the Mini Flips.

They did a buddy gift exchange. Here are Makenna's buddies, Natilei and Aliya.

Makenna was called up for her awards. Great job Makenna!

All the skating really reminded me of Skate East.(I'm sure you remember Grandma, Mom, Marsha, Megan, Michelle, Amy, Jenny, Leslie, Allison, Courtney, and all of my family readers-didn't mean to leave anyone out!) When we were little we used to go every Saturday and we had so much fun! I really want to take the kids more often. Maybe as Delaney gets a little older.

Daddy Daughter Diamondbacks

On Sunday, Camden was supposed to go with Christian to a Diamondbacks game. Camden had REALLY been looking forward to it! Unfortunately, Camden came down with the flu just a few hours before they had to leave. :( It was so sad that he couldn't go.
But Christian made the best of the situation and took Makenna and they had a really great time!
They didn't take many pictures (Daddy, don't you know I have a blog to keep up?) but her is what they came home with.
Coloring at the kids area.
She also came home with a bat and ball and a pink Diamondbacks t-shirt. Great daddy/daughter time!

Camden, what happened to your hair????

It's blue!!
Oh, it was crazy hair day?

Okay then! I think you look cute with blue hair.

Delaney's First Haircut

It was only a trim, but Delaney got her first haircut this week. She is so friendly and fearless that there was no problem at all. She climbed up in the chair all by herself and sat still so well. :)

All done!

May Mayhem

Another busy weekend!

Saturday:

First thing in the morning was Camden's last football game of the season. He rocked! It was his best game ever. (wish I had remembered the camera!) He scored an amazing touchdown where he zigzagged back and forth to throw off the defense, scored an extra point and pulled 4 flags!!

After that, Christian took Camden and Delaney to Daymon's 3rd birthday party. Really wish I could have come Daymon, so Happy Birthday!

While they were at the party, Makenna had pictures to take at the gym in her recital costumes. The girls looked so cute and I just can't wait to see them on stage next weekend. Camden and Delaney are in the show too, along with all 3 nieces (Julia, Riley and Morgan). It should be an exciting day!

That night we took a bike ride to the park. Delaney was so funny because she wanted to climb these bars that are way too difficult for her (have I mentioned that she is a daredevil?) She tried recruiting the help of another little girl (probably 5 or 6 years old).

"Girl, please help me girl?" she said.

When the girl would walk off, Delaney would chase after her calling, "Hey girl, where are you going?"

When the girl wanted to play with her friends Delaney followed her saying, "Girl, what are you doing?"

It was so funny, but I had to stop her from pestering the poor "girl."

Sunday
Aunt Kelley came over AND we played in the new pool Makenna and I picked out. Perfect size pool for 3 kids!

Aunt Kelley went to Hawaii a few weeks ago and brought the kids each back a lei.

After such a busy day, we put a movie on for the kids so they could have some relaxing time.

What a great weekend!

Delaney's ABC's

Here is a cute video of Delaney singing her ABC's. Don't you love the crazy hair?

Mother's Day Fun

For Mother's Day, the kids made me some wonderful things.

Camden made me this great butterfly picture and poem. He was so cute because he was so excited to give it to me and picked out my favorite color bow to put on top. :)

Makenna made me this great flowerpot with chores she can do around the house.

Then she answered some random questions about me. I loved all her answers! She said:
My mother's name is Keri.
She is 50 years old. (um, she knows how old I am, not sure what happened here)
She weighs 21 pounds.
Her shoes are size 29.
She has blue eyes and yellow hair.
Her favorite food is fish. (she guessed on this one, not really a favorite at all! :)
Her favorite restaurant is Chipotle. (I love Chipotle!)
Her favorite thing to drink is Coke. (right on girl!)
Her favoirte color is purple. (true)
Her favorite TV show is the one with a person and a dog. (apparently she looked at our movies and saw the cover for Legally Blonde and decided that was probably my favorite show)
Her favorite thing to do is play with the family. (absolutely correct!)
The thing that makes her happiest is being with me. (aww)
Her favorite place to shop is Target. (Probably true!)
Her favorite thing to wear is a dress. (I hate wearing dresses and only wear them to weddings!)
Her best friend is a police officer (I don't know the name.) (So funny because she saw me hugging a friend I hadn't seen in a while (Sonia) and thought this!)
It really makes her happy when I help her cook. (Ummm, me....cook?)
Love,
Makenna

After time at home, we went to the Farmers where everyone worked together to make brunch. We saw my mom there. We all completely forgot to take any pictures.

That afternoon we met at a pizza place with Christian's parents.

It was a special mother's day because I got to spend it with the family. Happy Mother's Day to all those mom's out there!

Zoo Tumbling/Dance Demo

Some of Makenna's dance team participated in a tumbling/dance demonstration at the zoo on Saturday. It was a HOT day! The girls could only fit in 2 tumbling passes because the mat was too hot to touch. Then the girls showed a few of their dances, which was interested with so many missing girls. They did a great job though!

Camden and Delaney are always such a great audience cheering on their sister. It was so hot after being out in the scorching sun that right after the demo, we took the kids to the water area. We spent more time there than we did looking at the animals!

We did fit in some of our favorites. Here is a baby zebra.

The spider monkeys (actually squirrel monkey's) are always a hit.

Awww.

We also checked out the snakes, a new interest of Camden's ever since he saw a rattlesnake at Neena and Poppy's!!

We had to leave the zoo early to get Camden to a birthday party where the real mascot from the Cardinals showed up!!! (Remember his football team is the Cardinals) pictures to come....
