Mesquite Groves Aquatic Center

There is place that Megan, Michelle and I discovered last year that has the best (and cheapest) water entertainment. Now I know there are some free places out there, but none are out in our direction and this place is so much fun.

They have a great play area.
This is the craziest part of the pool, but the kids love it. It's loud, wet and crazy...perfect for crazy little kids.

Then they have this lazy river.

I got a double tube for Camden, Delaney and I to share. Michelle shared a single tube with Daymon. Logan and Makenna shared a single tube too....and ALL the kids loved this lazy river. Just fun to float around!

Then, of course, what good place is fun without slides???

There are only 2,but they are pretty good. Only Makenna and I wanted to ride them. I remember last year I had to beg them to let her on because she was too short, but it was her 5th birthday and 4-year-olds were riding it with lifejackets...they were just bigger than her. This year she barely made the height requirement. she loved it.

After we played for a bit, Makenna wanted to try the diving boards for the first time. She has a new love!! She didn't want to leave! The first jump was little, but by the end, she was running and jumping off.

I expect nothing less from our little daredevil.

Camden is still pretty aprehensive in the water. We really need to get him around it more. It'll just take him a while to get up the confidence and courage.

Delaney on the other hand, is just like her big sister and wants to jump in and kept telling me to let go of her. She hung onto the side and went everywhere. The only problem for her is that she just randomly lets go. I love the courage, but I have to watch her so close!!

Okay, so the price of this place? Only $2 for adults and $.75 for kids! I spend only $4.25 for that! How nice is that?! We had a great time with Logan and Daymon and even talked about going back next week.

Playdate Wednesday #3

It's Wednesday, so Makenna and Camden each had another friend over for the day.
This week, Makenna chose Emma, another friend from the gym that we have known forever. Emma had never seen our house and had really wanted to, so both girls were really excited.

Camden wanted Morgan over last week, but she couldn't, so this week he asked for her again. Those two are so cute together! I do have to say though, the boy/girl thing is starting to put a damper on things. Morgan seems more interested in playing dress-up than cars!

I really had planned on the kids doing a little craft with beads and animals, but how can I compete with our little play pool?! The kids love it. So, again, this is what we did.

Then we came in and Morgan and Camden each wanted to play different things. Morgan wanted to play with princesses, and Camden wanted to play with cars. Their compromise? A castle with a garage to park all the princesses cars.
When Morgan and Camden went down for naps, Makenna and Emma enjoyed playing house, grocery shopping, a dinner party, dress-up, a dinnershow...you name it....the did it.

They also wanted to try Daddy's chin-up bar. Now these are two very strong little 5-year-olds. They both worked on some chin-ups.

Fun play day with good friends (and cousins!)

Forest Lakes

We headed north for Father's Day weekend to spend the weekend with Christian's parents in their fifth wheel. With our family of five, Ross and Amy (which is soon to be 3 of them!), Pat and Paul and 2 dogs, we have really outgrown the fifth wheel.
It just so happens that Makenna and Camden have been talking about camping, so this was a great opportunity to ease into camping. We set up a tent just outside the trailer park and slept there. Perfect to sleep in, yet we spent the day at the park.

While we set up the tent, apparrantly Neena, Poppy and the kids wanted to play with the camera!

The playground here is always a hit.

According to Makenna, the best part of the whole weekend was the tire swing.
Dinner that night.
We were so excited to sleep in our tent that night. Now, we did use an air mattress (and yes, it's still camping that way Ross!) It took up the entire tent, so it was quite...umm... cozy with 4 people, 4 different sleeping bags and 4 (barely fit across) pillows.

The next morning, the park was using a lift to change some lightbulbs. They were nice enough to let me take the kids up too.

Then it was time for the kids quad ride. In order to leave the park area and follow the law, the kids are required to wear a helmet.
This, by the way, was Camden's favorite part of the trip.
We decided to give Poppy his gift early....a small shuffleboard game.
Delaney loved the independence of opening and closing the door. Silly girl!

Then the adults went on a quadride to the Bear Caves. It was this great place with huge cutout boulders that was so much fun to climb.

That night, my favorite, s'mores.

No more pictures of the weekend, but the second night in the tent was even better. I do have to say that Camden is a loud sleeper! He breaths so heavy and thrashes. I think I got kicked in the head 3 times! Makenna sleeps silent, until she blurts out random things.
The next morning was Father's Day where we had a fantastic breakfast (thanks!) and headed home.
So much fun, thanks Neena and Poppy!

Playdate Wednesday #2

This week Makenna had her good friend Bailey over. (Camden wanted Morgan to come over, but she couldn't.) Makenna and Bailey have been friends for a long time, but rarely have time to just play together.

I don't think it quite worked out the way Makenna wanted though. Delaney totally monopolized Bailey, bombarding her with questions. And Bailey absolutely loves Delaney, so she was playing with her more than Makenna.

This is pretty much how Makenna felt about it. It's hard having such a sweet little sister! But after Delaney went to bed, Bailey and Makenna had some fun together.
After swimming, they played dress-up and spied on what I was doing. I didn't take any pictures, but I did take some pictures of them a few weeks ago in their cute new matching dance outfits.
Fun girl time!
