Camden's Week with Butterball

Every year, Camden's preschool has each class build a class pet at Build-a-bear. Camden missed the trip to build-a-bear this year (he was at the other preschool), but he does still get a week to spend with the pet. This year, his class built Butterball the Turkey. It is so perfect that Camden brought him home for the week of Thanksgiving! Butterball has spent the past week with us and we have had so much fun!

Here is the paper he will bring back to the class documenting what we did together.

It was a fun week with Butterball!

We are Thankful for...

For Christian and I, it is so easy to know what we are thankful for. This picture (even though it is minus one kid) shows exactly what we are thankful for. We have beautiful, healthy and happy children and we feel so fortunate and thankful for this!

But what are these little kiddos thankful for?
Camden is thankful for, "the two towers at preschool." Okay.....not really sure about that, so I pressed further. He also is thankful for his mommy, daddy, sisters, ball (even though it's been missing for 4 days!), Bolt, dinosaurs, and football.

Makenna is thankful for, "My family and all the friends I know."

Delaney is thankful for her backpack (she carries it everywhere!), her Acorn (it's her Zhu zhu pet she carries around everywhere that she named Acorn) and Baby Eeyore (one of the 10 Eeyores the girl has!
This was the year we have Thanksgiving at my parents house because normally Grandma and Grandpa are there (sadly they weren't able to make it this year....hope you are getting better each day Grandma!). We did visit Christian's parents earlier in the day for hors d'oeuvres.

Then we headed to my parents where the Farmers, Nanny and Gramps and my parents were. the kids were HYPER! It was like a big wrestling day!

Of course we all had to look at all the Black Friday ads.
After dinner, the kids crashed and needed a movie.
It was a day to spend with family and we loved every minute of it!

1st grade Thanksgiving

Makenna's class invited friends and family to watch them do a little Thanksgiving puppet show and sing some songs. Here is the class waiting patiently for the guests to show up.

As Mrs. Reese read a story, the class held up the correct puppets.

Then the class sang some songs, Makenna's favorite, "Albequerque is a Turkey." See Makenna?

Neena was able to make it and they shared some pumpkin pie.

This is Makenna and her good friend Shea.

KAR Dance Competition

Makenna and her friends competed in the KAR competition this past weekend. This is a HUGE competition with many studios competing. This was the first time she competed her new solo to the song, "Cooties." The song is from Hairspray and is so cute!!

Here are Makenna and her choreographer, Ms. Melissa. She was so excited to have a "performance" that she was counting down the days all week!

Her friends competed their solo for the first time too. Here are Makenna, Bailey and Emma.
Overall the girls all got a Top First Rating for their solos.
There were 67 solos in the 8 and under category (yes 67!!!!) It was a long 3 1/2 hours and a lot of girls competiting. Out of the 67 girls, Makenna placed 18th, not bad for her first time out!!!

After solo, the girls had a long break, then it was time for trio. I will be getting a copy of this routine too.

The girls already made improvements from last week's performance (they were more together) and got a top first ranking and placed 2nd overall!!

A great day for our little girls! They can't wait until the next competition!

Starbound Dance Competition

We took the trio to their first compeition this weekend and they rocked. They have a new routine this year to "Mr. Postman." I wish I had taken a picture of them in their costume, but I forgot!!

Here is the video, there are still a few kinks to work out, but it is a brand new routine which will hopefully get better and better. :)

Overall they got 1st place, a special judges award for "Terrific Tumbling" and a $100 gift certificate. What a great way to start the season!

Here are the girls with their new plaque, trophy, ribbons and medal!

When they got off stage, the first thing they said, which they say every year, "That was so much fun!"

Way to go Emma, Makenna, and Bailey!!

State Fair

Makenna performed at the state fair this week, which always makes for such a fun-filled day! Look how cute she is in her little coordinated outfit! I just love the new bags, shorts, and tanks, so of course I had to make matching flip-flops! Oh, and the shirts have their names on the back, gotta love girly dance clothes!

Here are Bailey, Makenna, and Natilei

Addi, Natilei, Madelyn, Bailey, and Makenna

The entire mini company (minus Alyssa). I have to record the names so I don't forget!
back: Taylor, Torrie, Tori, Bailey, Jenna, Emmie
front: Emma, Natilei, Addi, Jacqueline, Makenna
Here are some of the girls on junior company: Savanna, Hailley, Lauren, Halle and Courtney

The girls did a great job, especially for it being the first time out with brand new routines. Makenna performed in 2 group dances and her trio. So fun!
After the performances, we went off as a family to ride some rides.
First the kids just wanted to play.

I was excited that this year Delaney could ride some rides. It was so funny that she wanted to ride this ride with a little girl who I coach too!
Makenna and Camden made the next height cut-off (finally!) and so they enjoyed some bigger rides. Poor Delaney wanted to ride too. Maybe next year????
Here is a shot right at the end.

Our three goofy kiddos.

Fun day!!!

Camden and a snake

No big post here, just loved that Camden got to hold a snake! :)
