Kerry:
My fabulous husband who always can make me laugh even if I am frazzled, my energetic and fiesty Makenna, my mishchevious and loveable Camden, my sweet and innocent Delaney, the rest of our crazy and attentive family, and our caring and reliable friends.

THANKSGIVING DAY

For Thanksgiving, we alternate years and this was the year for my parents house. Every other year my grandparents come to town, so we spent a majority of the 4 day weekend visiting with them.

We did begin our day at Christian's parents, just to see everyone and eat some yummy quesadillas. At Nana and Poppy's the kids go crazy riding their "motorcycles" all over the tile floor.

Gigi and Gramps were there too.

Next we went to Nana and Papa's where there were 20 of us, including both sets of grandparents and all cousins, aunts and uncles. We tried to get a picture of all 8 cousins and one turned out pretty good!

The day was festive and it just reminds all of us what we should be thankful for!

Delaney 9 months

Our little girl is 9 months! Hard to believe! I took her to the doctor and she weighed 20 pounds 5 ounces (75th percentile) and was 28 inches (65th percentile). Her head is still small like the other two. It was the best 9 month appointment I've ever been to. I was worried because Delaney has started becoming very attached to me, but she did great with the doctor. She didn't even cry when the pricked her finger! He looked in her ears, mouth, everything and Delaney was all smiles. Sweet baby!

Here are our newest things:
Crawling. She crawls all over the place (and not that silly worm crawl she was doing a couple of months ago). She loves to crawl in the playroom because of all the bright colors and new toys and loves her independence.

Standing. She loves to pull herself up on everything. This means we have to keep all tables, couches and chairs free of anything we don't want her touching. Not cruising yet, but I'm sure that will come soon... I am worried about the Christmas tree!

Eeyore. This seems to be her attachment item. Papa gave him to her when she was born, and he is the only animal I had that seemed the right size to sleep with, so she's had since about 2 months. Now, she just loves to snuggle her face right up to him and give him kisses. She wants to take him everywhere!

Attachment. She's hit that stranger danger stage and pretty much wants Mommy. Daddy is still quite important too, but she doesn't like going to other people too much unless they can distract her. It might be hard to get things done, but it's sweet and I love it!

One happy, healthy baby!

Riley has a "pink" eye

So, Riley's family birthday party was supposed to be today but Megan called this morning to tell us Riley has pink eye so the party is cancelled. Poor thing. Well, the kids were really disappointed, but mostly worried about Riley's "pink" eye. They wanted to see it. When we told them it is uncomfortable and icky, they then worried that Morgan, Julia and Aunt Megan would get it (sorry Uncle Greg I guess they wanted you to have a pink eye). When Christian said he was running over to the Farmer's house to pick up some cinnamon rolls Megan made (so good), the kids were very worried. Here was the conversation:

Makenna: Daddy, will you see Riley when you are over there? Will she give you a pink eye too?
Daddy: I will be careful so I don't get it too.

When he got home:
Makenna: Did you see Riley? Does she have a pink eye? Do you have one too? Let me see your eyes.
Daddy: (showing his eyes) I was careful, my eyes are fine.
Makenna: (holding down her eyelid) Are my eyes pink too?
Daddy: No, they are fine.
Makenna: But they are red here (pointing to under her eyelid).
Camden: Daddy, are my eyes pink? I want my eyes to be blue!
Makenna: No Camden, when your eye is pink it's icky!
Camden: But my eye isn't pink.
Mommy: Camden your eyes are blue, so are Makenna's.
Camden: Are they icky?
Makenna: I'm going to look at Riley's eyes at preschool tomorrow to see if they are pink.

It kind of reminds of this great book Makenna picked out at the bookfair called Pinkalicious. It's about this girl who eats too many pink cupcakes and she turns pink. She goes to the doctor and the only way to get over this pinkitis is to eat tons of green vegetables. Cute story.

Look what Makenna did today

Makenna got her mat out today and started trying to do her kickover and she did it! She actually did it 6 or 7 times, just not in a row. She was so proud of herself! This is only the second time she did it (of course I didn't have the camera out the very first time!)

Camden

I haven't posted about Camden lately so I thought I'd say something about him. He's not really involved in anything right now, although we might start baseball or soccer in January. He really likes playing with quads and his big and little sister. Also, he LOVES bicycles right now (I'm thinking Christmas idea...) We went to Riley's birthday party this past weekend (so much fun) and rather than play in the bounce house like all the other kids, he wanted to ride the bicycle. He loves to be outside too, and begs me everyday to go play on our driveway. He has known his ABC's forever (obviously you know that if you saw the video of him reading!), but he wanted me to take a video of him singing a song. Here he is...

Veterans Day Parade

Every year, the performing girls at the gym I work at, march in the Mesa Veterans Day Parade. The past two years, I pulled Makenna and Bailey in a wagon because they were too young to be on the team. This year they got to sit on the trailer! Makenna performed her cheer (Red, White and Blue) and shimmied to the drum beat. She waved and smiled as she sat. I walked right behind her and helped the older girls stay in line. Julia got to walk for the first year too! It was a patriotic day.

Mini Flips
The rest of the group, ready to go!

Here are Bailey and Makenna in the parade last year

Fire in the courtyard

This past weekend Christian's parents invited us over to sit around the fire in their new courtyard and eat turkey pot pie for dinner. We welcomed the opportunity to stop working in the garage and headed on over.

I hope someday Christian and I can custom build our dream home like they are doing. There is something to be said for our house right now though. I feel so lucky to be in home a I absolutely love and not in a position of finding a new place like so many others.

Anyway, here are just a few candid shots.

Our week with Cheenga the Cheetah

Makenna was first on the list to bring the class pet home for a week to take care of him. Cheenga is a cheetah that the class built at Build-a-bear and is very special to her class. Makenna took him everywhere we went for the week, and it was a busy week so were glad to have him. Here are just some of the places we took him.

Gymnastics Class

The Park
The State Fair where Makenna performed

Trick-or-treating, Cheenga was a princess

We voted with Cheenga

Last night Makenna and I put together a page showing what we did and wrote a journal entry. Makenna will certainly miss Cheenga, but another student gets to have some fun with him.

State Fair

Makenna's gym (and the gym I happen to work at) performed in the State Fair this past weekend. She is part of a performing team with girls from 4 years old to 15. She is in the youngest group, of course, and is a Mini Flip. Her group got to dance to 2 songs and tumble, and Makenna got to do a tap dance routine that she did at the recital in May. I was so proud of her! She smiled the whole time and tried her hardest. Christian couldn't get a video of the dancing because she was stuck behind a girl much taller than her (I think they are going to have to move the formation around a bit, several people commented it looked awkward with her in the back) but from the side I could see her and she was a rockstar (that's the name of the song). In tumbling she did her one arm cartwheels and made a kickover on the cheese all by herself. She really loves performing and I am so glad she has the opportunity. It was a fun day.

Julia is on the performing team too, so here is a picture of the performing cousins!

Makenna has two really good friends on her team, Bailey and Emma. They are all the same age, with birthdays within 2 months of each other. These three are actually part of a trio that are learning a dance routine to bring to competitions in the Spring. I will keep you updated, but I will tell you their routine will be adorable. :)

The Mini Flip group

Of course we had to go on some rides.

The state fair was expensive!! But we had a great day and it's a good thing it only comes once a year! We really appreciate everyone that came out to support Makenna. It meant a lot that you were there! Next on Makenna's performing list...the veterans day parade next week!
