Makenna's gym (and the gym I happen to work at) performed in the State Fair this past weekend. She is part of a performing team with girls from 4 years old to 15. She is in the youngest group, of course, and is a Mini Flip. Her group got to dance to 2 songs and tumble, and Makenna got to do a tap dance routine that she did at the recital in May. I was so proud of her! She smiled the whole time and tried her hardest. Christian couldn't get a video of the dancing because she was stuck behind a girl much taller than her (I think they are going to have to move the formation around a bit, several people commented it looked awkward with her in the back) but from the side I could see her and she was a rockstar (that's the name of the song). In tumbling she did her one arm cartwheels and made a kickover on the cheese all by herself. She really loves performing and I am so glad she has the opportunity. It was a fun day.
Julia is on the performing team too, so here is a picture of the performing cousins!

Makenna has two really good friends on her team, Bailey and Emma. They are all the same age, with birthdays within 2 months of each other. These three are actually part of a trio that are learning a dance routine to bring to competitions in the Spring. I will keep you updated, but I will tell you their routine will be adorable. :)

The Mini Flip group

Of course we had to go on some rides.

The state fair was expensive!! But we had a great day and it's a good thing it only comes once a year! We really appreciate everyone that came out to support Makenna. It meant a lot that you were there! Next on Makenna's performing list...the veterans day parade next week!
