We spent our independence day at my parents house swimming. No aunts, uncles or cousins, so it was very laid back and Makenna, Camden and Delaney had great Nana and Papa time.
After swimming and eating dinner, we put Laney down for bed and the kids and adults got to swim at night with the pool light on. They thought that was pretty cool. Nana had bought glow-in-the-dark necklaces so the kids had fun glowing in the pool. Christian, Papa and Camden played catch with a ball wrapped in glow-in-the-dark bracelets so they could see it.
The only downside was the lack of fireworks. We really thought we'd be able to see them from the backyard but could not. Hopefully we can watch some while we are on vacation, they have them at Celebration City.
