Table Rockin' Lake

I love vacations. I especially love vacations that our whole family can enjoy. That's why I love going to Table Rock...there is something for everyone.

The kids really had a blast this year. They had so much more freedom to run around and play with their cousins and swimming everyday was like a dream come true. Even Laney seemed to enjoy the daily activities.

Highlights include:

* My cousin Todd got engaged to his girlfriend Katie.
*We celebrated Marsha's 50th birthday belated with a heated jeopardy game that Amy created. (oh yeah, our family won!)

*Camden came a long way with his swimming and swam in the lake without holding my hand. He really loved the pool because he could touch and he did the zipsled and skimmer! But his favorite was the Sea-doo (accent on the doo)

*We played the annual beer pong tournament where Megan and Greg won for the 3rd time! (Amy I apologize for my sucky playing)

*Makenna had an amazing time! Anytime she can swim, its a good day...and she swam like 3 times a day! She loved the slide at the pool, jumping in at the swim dock, skimming and she even tried wakesurfing and wakeboarding! I was so proud of her for trying! The only bad moment was getting swim ear half-way through.

*We took a day to visit Branson. the five of us and Nana and Papa went through a mirror maze.
Then we went miniature golfing with neon lights.
*Delaney wouldn't let anyone hold her, but she loved repeating everyone's names, swimming in the pool, exploring our cabin, and having more freedom than she's used to.

*4 visits to urgent care (a record I think) Matt's head, Grandma's foot, Ben's rash and Makenna's swim ear. I did not include a picture of Matt's head because some people may not want to see the blood streaming down after the wakeboard hit him in the head. (The dart Christian threw in Matt's leg didn't send him to urgent care, but I though I'd throw it in).

*Celebrated Niki's 16th birthday, which is next month.

*Had margaritas to celebrate an upcoming birthday of mine. (age not needing to be mentioned here)

*Met our newest family members, Blake and Roman.

*Watched 10 of our group wakeboard at the same time (some random people watching asked if it was a traveling group!)

*And saw a lot of family members.

I was sad we could not get a group picture but here are all the people in attendance (I think I remembered us all)
Grandma, Grandpa, David, Debra, Marty, Candy, Jenny, Joe, Ben, Maddie, Leslie, Matt, Roman, Cliff, Mark, Kelly, Kerry, Christian, Makenna, Camden, Delaney, Megan, Greg, Julia, Riley, Morgan, Marsha, Neil, Amy, Blake, Michael, Allison, Todd, Katie, Kathy, Niki, Dennis, Joanna, Kristin

There are so many more pictures and stories I could share, but I thought this really captured the trip from my family's perspective. Thanks to all the pictures from the THOUSANDS we all took. What a great week...only 355 days until next year!

Happy 4th of July!

We spent our independence day at my parents house swimming. No aunts, uncles or cousins, so it was very laid back and Makenna, Camden and Delaney had great Nana and Papa time.

After swimming and eating dinner, we put Laney down for bed and the kids and adults got to swim at night with the pool light on. They thought that was pretty cool. Nana had bought glow-in-the-dark necklaces so the kids had fun glowing in the pool. Christian, Papa and Camden played catch with a ball wrapped in glow-in-the-dark bracelets so they could see it.

The only downside was the lack of fireworks. We really thought we'd be able to see them from the backyard but could not. Hopefully we can watch some while we are on vacation, they have them at Celebration City. In case he forgets his name or age!Laney saying "Cheese!"
Makenna with her "bling," she looked like she was going to a rave. (there was even one in her ponytail!)
The bling with the flash.
Happy 4th of July!

Happy 3rd birthday Morgan

On Tuesday, Morgan turned 3! It seems like she has been 3 for a while, but now it's official. We met up with Megan, Michelle and all the kids at Chucky Cheese to celebrate the day.

Camden rode his favorite ride, the Sea-Doo.

The only kids who wanted to talk to Chucky were Morgan, Makenna and Riley.

Delaney and Daymon liked the little toddler rides.
It was pretty crazy with 8 kids and only 3 adults!
Here is Morgan wearing her new flipflops I made.
Happy Birthday Mo!!

Itty Bitty Hip Hop

Makenna and Riley had a hiphop class for 5 weeks this summer. It was so much fun for the girls. Hopefully Makenna will take it again this fall. Here is the dance they learned over the course of the class. The whole time Makenna is trying not to smile though, not sure why. Megan taped it, so blame her for cutting the girls off! :)

(Isn't Makenna's outfit so "hiphop", I just love dance clothes!)

HipFlops

So my most recent creative streak has involved me making bow flipflops for Makenna. I am kind of obsessed. I think I've made Makenna 6 pair (and she had 3 that Angela made her last year!) It's just so much fun to match them to her clothes, swimsuits and dance outfits! I decided I should post pictures of some of them. If I decided to sell them, I thought I could call them "HipFlops." Right now they take me too long to make for it to work as a business adventure, but maybe as I get faster....

I made Julia, Riley, and Morgan each a pair for their birthday.

Next I am going to try and make an adult pair, maybe with a little less bow. :)
It's always fun for a girl to have a cute pair of flipflops!
