Fall Break

Every break from school I have high hopes of all the things I will accomplish. Cleaning the house and working on big projects are always at the top. Before I had kids I was motivated and actually accomplished big tasks. Now that I have three, forget about it. Not only do I lack to the time to get big tasks done, I have absolutely no motivation. The kids want to play, and I want to play with them. I make such a big deal out of having so many days off in a row with them, I really want to spend the time with them, not cleaning, painting, reorganizing, or whatever else needs to be done. Then comes the guilt though. My house is so messy, but when I am playing with the kids I certainly don't feel guilty! So basically, our house is trashed but our kids are happy. That's an accomplishment, right?

Here are some fun things we did this week.

Lots of drawing. Makenna is really into writing her name and the name of everything she can spell. She's always showing me how to form the letters. She never had an interest in this last year. She loved reading but didn't care for writing. I'm happy to see this changing. Camden still isn't into drawing too much, but loves the aquadoodle pages. It uses water to color and he enjoys this.

Dance class. Makenna is in a trio group of 4 year olds that just began learning their routine that we will take to some competitions this winter. She was so excited to get Miss Brigitte's more individualized attention and adores the routine. She already asked me to download the song, and put it on a CD for her radio so she can practice! Camden loves going to the gym because he can play on all the equipment. He isn't taking classes right now and really misses it, so it's nice when he can go and be in the environment. Maybe next year the schedule will work out better for us.

Park. On Thursday, Michelle and I took the kids to the park so they could get some energy out. Actually, Christian and I have been taking the kids to the park more regularly right now because the weather has been so gorgeous. We don't get to see Michelle, Logan and Daymon that often, so it was nice to spend time with them.

Doctors Office. Okay, not a fun thing, but we went to the doctor 3 times this week. Once to find out Delaney did not have an ear infection. Once to have all three get their flu shots (not fun!). And once to find out Delaney DOES have an ear infection. A right of passage I guess, but ear infections are not fun. She's great at the medicine though.

That's pretty much it. Just play, play, play.
