GeoCaching

Wow, it has been Spring Break and I have A LOT of blogging to do to catch up! The first weekend, the Wards (my parents), Farmers and us went out geocaching. A geocache is a hidden object hidden that has a set of coordinates you can use to try and find it. They are all over the world, and we just happened to see that there were 6 in my parents neighborhood. It was called, "Seville-ity" We set out on Sunday to find these hidden treasures (as we told the kids). We all piled in the pack of Greg's truck and off we went. The kids were so excited and interested when we started out. They searched every tree, rock, leave and anywhere they could. Unfortunately, we found out after we started at the closest one, that this was the hardest. We could not find it, so we moved to another one.
We used 3 phones to try and locate it and searched quite a while. Finally, Uncle Greg found it! It was MUCH smaller than we thought.

Inside, there is a small scroll of paper and we added our names to it. Well, there were 12 people, so we couldn't fit everyone's name. So, from here on out, we are known as the WTF Family! (Ward, Taylor, Farmer). Crazy!
Then we moved on to another one.

The kids started to lose interest at this time and they just played.
But Papa, Uncle Greg and Christian were quite persistent and found it!

Again, we were the WTF Family. :)
Because they were so small and hard to find, the kids did lose interest, but the idea of searching for the "hidden treasure" does still interest them. We plan on looking for some larger ones next time!

Allison and Leslie, you can go to geocaching.com and find a ton in your area. What's better though is to get an app on your phone and just use the GPS to find them. They are everywhere! We are going to look some up and maybe try at the lake this summer too. Tons of fun!
